US army website shut down after hacking attack

Yesterday the US army had ‘temporarily’ taken down their website (army.mil ) after a hacking attempt supposedly performed by the Syrian Electronic Army.
Brig Gen Malcolm Frost, the chief of the army public affairs, had this to say on the topic:
“The army took appropriate preventive measures to ensure there was no breach of army data by taking down the website temporarily.”
Before the website was taken down there were many screen grabs on social media detailing messages that were supposedly left on the website. One such being from F-Secure’s Mikko Hypponen:
