Isn’t it time to up your USB security game?

The Aegis Secure Key 3.0

As we all know there are two types of company; those that know they’ve been hacked, and those that don’t know. It’s important to make sure that we look at security on all levels, both day to day and corporate. We recently asked the Hacking Insider audience how they store their data and 48% answered with a portable USB device being their key form of data storage. This should be a wake up call to most of us. This being the case as normally these devices are the ones we put the least care and security into.

48% answered with a portable USB device being their key form of data storage.

The Aegis Secure Key 3.0 is one of the newest products in the Apricorn range. In the past the company has released both similar security USB fob products as well as desktop drive equivalents.

The Aegis Secure Key 3.0 focuses on security and sports both Military Grade On-The-Fly 256-Bit AES-XTS Hardware Encryption as well as embedded 7-16 digit pin authentication. The device is also tamper evident using a tough epoxy resin as an internal filling to indicate if the device has been compromised.

This device also boasts FIPS 140-2 Level 3 accreditation. This means that in addition to the tamper-evident physical security mechanisms it also attempts to prevent the intruder from gaining access to CSPs held within the cryptographic module. These physical security mechanisms are intended to have a high probability of detecting and responding to attempts at physical access, use or modification of the cryptographic module.

We look forward to working with the team at Apricorn in the future. For now however you can check out their range at: www.apricorn.com.
